ITRS has acquired several companies with their own monitoring products. We have now a set of products with different branding, look and feel, components and user experience. Aligning the different products to the same brand, look and feel and patterns is not only good for the user experience of the ITRS customers but also more effective and agile in terms of development.
I propposed and pushed to create the ITRS Design System based on Material by Google. This is the library that was choosen for the last product the company developed. This design system is scalable, adaptative and fulfills the needs of the main products of the company. It is a set of components, patterns, styles and definitions and it became the foundations of the products. Different teams across the company have access to the Design System and can apply it to their project. The structure of it is based on Material so it's easy for developers to find and replace styles and patterns. In addition to the components and foundations that Material DS compile, we created components on demand when there was a need from one of the product.
